The Phoenix is a slim bird creature. It has a round head, a tuft atop it's head, 4 short claws, a feathered tail with two long feathers hosting flames at the end, and short, flat chest and head coat. Its wings are large and just about the size of it's own body in length, generally folded into a "V" shape when not in use. Above its head are two asymmetrical floating horns.
The default avatar is orange and maroon with a black face, beak, and feet. Its spark is a soft yellow in the shape of a diamond.

Mythology[]
The phoenix is a long-lived bird associated with Greek mythology (with analogs in many cultures) that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. Some legends say it dies in a show of flames and combustion, others that it simply dies and decomposes before being born again.
