The Rush Locust appears to be a green locust, a certain species of grasshopper. However, in the game files, it is called "Preymantis", which is assumed to be a scrapped original name. They will occasionally hop around, using their wings to propel themselves to different locations. You can see their movement via the mini-map harvest point icons, as their placement will change.
